Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense ((:ˈɡɾẽmju ˌfutʃˈbɔw ˌpoɾtw ɐlɛˈɡɾẽsi)), commonly known as Grêmio, is a Brazilian professional football club based in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. It plays in the Campeonato Gaúcho, the state of Rio Grande do Sul's premier state league, as well as the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top tier of the Brazilian football league system.
Grêmio was founded by English and German immigrants on 15 September 1903.
